Life and Death of James

Deck: Vintage Tarot Tattoo

James: The Devil
You are a charming devil, cheeky, maybe a little self-centered but people loved your company. You indulged in experiences considered sinful in your time so you perceive yourself as devilish, but today we would just say you knew how to party.

Obstacles in life: Knight of Coins Rv
Self-discipline was very hard for you! “Normal” life was a dreadful bore, and you lived for the excitement of seeing and doing new things. Novelty is what kept your cup full, so you always wanted more!

The past: Six of Coins Rv
You either grew up impoverished or indebted. I have a vision of your family as aristocratic, but your father made investments that went bust. You had to make your own way, but you had help from a generous patron to get on your feet.

The future: Seven of Wands Rv
Even so, life was a struggle and toward the end you were exhausted and ready to give up. You would rather have flamed out than faded away. Your lifespan outlasted your lust for it, yet you continue on it spirit.

The conscious: Three of Swords Rv
In death, your consciousness lives on, and in this process you have let go of old heartbreaks. Your spirit is healing and time has given you new perspective on the life you lived.

The unconscious: Eight of Coins
Even in your current state you continue to strive for mastery over this plane of existence, though you don’t even realize it. You continue to learn without even trying.

Your influence: Eight of Wands Rv
You are plainly frustrated with your lack of influence on the physical world around you, so you try to interact as much as possible. You still have difficulty accepting your limitations, but you have found an outlet!

External influence: Nine of Coins
I have a strong feeling this is Nia’s influence. You see her as a vibrant and independent woman. She has so much of what you wanted in life. You enjoy being around her and reveling in her success. She is a fun young woman who brings you joy.

Hopes or fears: Judgement
You did not cross over because you feared you would be judged unworthy of heaven. But as you stuck around and witnessed the world evolve around you, you realized we are all just spiritual beings doing our best.

Outcome: The Sun
As a result of this realization, you have found the sunshine of the spirit you craved in life. Your future is freedom and joy!

Delinda, Are You There?

This is a reading trying to connect with my 3x great grandma Delinda Fairchild. 2 of Cups: I believe this is showing me that we’re “birds of a feather” and have similar character. It’s two very different birds enjoying the same food and the same environment or ecosystem. Most interestingly, one bird is black, one bird is white; I am white and Delinda was black. A little on the nose, but it struck me. King of Swords: She was a smart and clever woman and had an attitude of authority, a matriarch. The crow is perched on a grave with angel wings against a smoky background: a spirit who has passed on. There are 3 hourglasses: hourglasses normally represent time but I don’t know how it applies. They hold a fish, a heart, and a sword, which I perceive as the gut feeling, the emotions, and the mind working in harmony. Maybe she was intuitive, too? 4 of Pents Rv: I get a sense she was on the defensive a lot of her life. From the ONE vital record I found of her, she lived in rural New York, wido...

Can I strengthen my relationship with my friend?

Short answer: The relationship is fine - solid actually (she's just really busy), get your self-saboteur under control and focus on your new project idea!

I’m a Monster

Q: What can I do to better support my spouse’s new business idea? (Housewives Tarot, of course) 5 of Cups: failure, pessimism Page of Cups Rv: new ideas, doubts, creative block 8 of Cups: disappointment, giving up, fantasy Clarifier: Page of Pentacles: opportunity, skill development, manifestation Rather than answering how I can help, the spread displays my general attitude about his gazillion hobbies and spending too much money on expensive things he will get bored of right away and never use again. I am the one who is pessimistic, doubtful. I am worried he’s buying just to buy, has big ideas with no follow-through.  The last card, Page of Pents, I pulled as a clarifier. It seemed to assure me that my spouse really does see photography as a financial opportunity. He’s dedicated hours and hours to learning the equipment, software, industries, and other topics. He is really trying to manifest this reality and make the leap to self-employment via services using this equipment. ...
