Teenagers! Am I right? LOL JK

I did a Waite Celtic Cross reading for my young cousin Hannah on Xmas Eve/Winter Solstice. I don't know what the winter holidays are like in your family, but mine can get pretty wild, so I'm not sure how much she absorbed... *ahem*... So aNYwhO, on to the reading 😜

Situation - Four of Swords
Recouping after a recent trauma, conflict, or a fight. This downtime is crucial for complete recovery. Afterward, the discovery of a secret weapon that was within grasp all along! Gauging from the rest of the cards, it could be deeper intuition, a strong network of friends and family, or something else entirely.

Challenges/Obstacles - Four of Wands
Peaceful domesticity, successful teamwork, harmonious community. Work-life balance, harmony between internal and external spheres of life. In the challenge/obstacle position, I see this as something Hannah wants but doesn't yet know how to achieve. Right now this looks like an out-of-reach ideal.

Foundation/Root Cause - The Magician
The thing that set this whole ball in motion was a seed of potential that sprouted, and Hannah is being called to take action to turn ideas into reality! All the skills, knowledge, and capabilities she has gathered along her life path have led her to where she is now. Next step is to align her day-to-day actions to create the future she wants most! The "magic" being conjured here is the ability to draw from existing resources and create something new and amazing. This requires a lot of unglamorous behind-the-scenes work to create the remarkable end effect (think the man behind the curtain vs the Wizard of Oz, minus the hypocrisy and fear-mongering - Jesus, I'm terrible at analogies).

Past Influences - King of Cups
A loving, gentle father figure. He has a lot of stress and pressure in his life, demonstrates a generally calm temperament, but can be moody. He is charismatic, empathetic, and people like to be around him, but despite this he sometimes feels lonely. This characterization perfectly describes Hannah's dad. Makes sense because, you know, he raised her and stuff.

Aspiration - The High Priestess
Doesn't every girl aspire to be a High Priestess?! A down-to-earth beauty who is mysterious and sexy, and highly intuitive. She is basically the female Magician. Whereas The Magician does his creating in the tangible world, The High Priestess creates within the psyche, intuition, imagination, linking the conscious and unconscious. She can tap into the collective unconscious and instinctively know things. Whatever is troubling Hannah can be helped by tuning into her own intuition, and connecting to her higher self through meditation, visualization, and tuning in spiritually.

Immediate Future - Five of Pentacles
This is a card of poverty and destitution, but taking the other cards into account, I read this as spiritual poverty and emotional destitution. Hannah shared with me her struggles with depression and anxiety, and a distorted self-image. There will be more struggle in this realm, but this card also indicates that divine intervention is on the way. Something out of the clear blue will give her a leg up.

View of Self - Three of Wands, Reversed
Carelessness, mistakes, setbacks, acting hastily. Disappointments concerning the matter at hand due to missing something important, and maybe not having the support and cooperation needed from others. In conversation, Hannah said, "I keep fucking up!" and that she was disappointed that she didn't feel as supported as she'd like to. This card is here to show her that she's being introspective and trying to figure out where she went wrong and how to pick up and do it differently next time. This is generally positive, but she should be careful not to beat herself up about her mistakes.

Environment - Three of Cups
Community, friendship, camaraderie. Hannah is surrounded by dependable, genuine, supportive, and sincere allies, which is critical to the situation at hand. Good fortune is actively manifesting. This reinforces the Immediate Future card, that while she is suffering now, she is surrounded and supported by positive forces, whether they be family, friends, or spirit. Even while she feels shitty, good things are coming into being.

Hopes and Fears - Queen of Cups
Loving, nurturing, protective female energy. Very intuitive and relies on intuition over logic at times. Strong people skills, charismatic, and very effective at nurturing interpersonal relationships. Always acts with good intentions but can be idealistic and emotional. This sounds a lot like Hannah's mom! I think her hope as it pertains to the situation at hand is that she can emulate all that she admires about her mom (and other mother-figures in her life), but also is worried about this influence having too much power over the situation.

Probable Outcome - Knight of Pentacles
Generally, court cards represent people or personality traits. As a person, this card represents a stable, reliable male energy. Rational, methodical, responsible, financially stable. Someone who will always take care of their loved ones, and who can always be counted on. A conventional person who goes the straight and narrow path.

In the outcome position, I'm inclined to apply these characteristics to the actual situation and say that Hannah will see slow and steady progress. She can tap into this energy by being responsible, taking one step at a time, being patient, and she will create stability and security for herself.

Connecting the Dots
The overarching theme in this reading was Hannah's struggle to find her emotional bearings, and feeling kind of hopeless about it. She is surrounded by positive influences, and has a strong sense of who she wants to become. She is looking for the path forward, and I hope this reading sheds some light on it.

To Hannah: All the ingredients for success and happiness are here: love (King of Cups), resourcefulness (The Magician), stability (Knight of Pentacles), spirituality (The High Priestess), and emotional connection (Queen of Cups). Let go of regret and overthinking. Trust yourself, and do the next right thing! Let me know how you've progressed these last few months. XoXo

Delinda, Are You There?

This is a reading trying to connect with my 3x great grandma Delinda Fairchild. 2 of Cups: I believe this is showing me that we’re “birds of a feather” and have similar character. It’s two very different birds enjoying the same food and the same environment or ecosystem. Most interestingly, one bird is black, one bird is white; I am white and Delinda was black. A little on the nose, but it struck me. King of Swords: She was a smart and clever woman and had an attitude of authority, a matriarch. The crow is perched on a grave with angel wings against a smoky background: a spirit who has passed on. There are 3 hourglasses: hourglasses normally represent time but I don’t know how it applies. They hold a fish, a heart, and a sword, which I perceive as the gut feeling, the emotions, and the mind working in harmony. Maybe she was intuitive, too? 4 of Pents Rv: I get a sense she was on the defensive a lot of her life. From the ONE vital record I found of her, she lived in rural New York, wido...

Can I strengthen my relationship with my friend?

Short answer: The relationship is fine - solid actually (she's just really busy), get your self-saboteur under control and focus on your new project idea!

I’m a Monster

Q: What can I do to better support my spouse’s new business idea? (Housewives Tarot, of course) 5 of Cups: failure, pessimism Page of Cups Rv: new ideas, doubts, creative block 8 of Cups: disappointment, giving up, fantasy Clarifier: Page of Pentacles: opportunity, skill development, manifestation Rather than answering how I can help, the spread displays my general attitude about his gazillion hobbies and spending too much money on expensive things he will get bored of right away and never use again. I am the one who is pessimistic, doubtful. I am worried he’s buying just to buy, has big ideas with no follow-through.  The last card, Page of Pents, I pulled as a clarifier. It seemed to assure me that my spouse really does see photography as a financial opportunity. He’s dedicated hours and hours to learning the equipment, software, industries, and other topics. He is really trying to manifest this reality and make the leap to self-employment via services using this equipment. ...
