So yesterday we buried my absentee dad who died a pretty horrible death all alone and apparently homeless. He lived a destructive life and left emotional scars on anyone who got close to him. I pulled some cards (no spread structure) to ask what he wanted me to know about his life. It’s pretty clear that he wanted all the things that the K of Swords represents: achievement, intellect, respect, financial security, etc. But the 2 of Cups Rx shows that he thought only of himself, didn’t value his relationships, and didn’t do the emotional work necessary to maintain them.
